The Oregon Business Council
is the founding sponsor of E3 (formerly Worksite 21): an independent, non-profit
organization building understanding and inspiring action for high academic
standards to support learning and achievement in Oregon's public schools.
E3
currently leads several efforts including the Oregon Small Schools Initiative,
Partnership for Student Success, the Employer Education Forum, and the Show It
Counts Campaign.
Oregon Small Schools Initiative. With the generous support of the
Meyer Memorial Trust and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, E3 is leading
a multi-year, statewide initiative to transform high schools into effective
small school learning environments.
Community Outreach Initiative: Partnership for Student Success. E3
helps build support for education improvement in local school communities.
With support from the Oregon Community Foundation, Oregon University System,
Oregon School Boards Association, Oregon Education Association, and
Confederation of Oregon School Administrators, E3 is launching an outreach
program that engages key business, education and community leaders to improve
the connection between local schools and their communities through adoption of
specific, localized plans that measurably increase community support for
improved student achievement.
Employer Engagement Strategies. E3 gets employers involved in
hands-on education improvement. E3's new Employer Forum series builds off the
award-winning Show it Counts! Program.
